Trauma Therapy

My approach to trauma therapy is a body-centred process: Deep Brain Reorienting (DBR).

DBR is a highly specialised process for working with trauma and psychological injury.

DBR is not a narrative therapy. It’s a body-centred process and approach for healing trauma at the deep brain level, where initial threat orientation and brace/shock experiences can keep people reactive or hyper-vigilant and stuck in a bio-psychological trauma loop.

DBR works precisely with the neuroanatomy of the brain stem to clear shock, re-establish healthy orienting, and allow the natural flow of responsivity to return to your mind-body system.

It is steady and gentle. Its transformative effect occurs through the shift in how you see yourself and the world - it is a perspective-altering treatment for trauma.

Deep Brain Reorienting can be for specific or situation-related trauma (PTSD or complex PTSD) or attachment trauma, which might not be connected to a particular memory and instead experienced as a general or vague sense of aloneness, shame, grief, fear or anger and /or chronic relationship issues.

All sessions with Dr Mendy are conducted online. She is available on Mondays and Tuesdays.
